We applied to the FCC for a license in October 2007.
There are others competing against us for the channel. After a year and a half of negotiating, we have reached a tentative agreement, that grants us a license with very good coverage. To make it final, we will have expenses of about $30000.
This is significantly more than we anticipated. We need to raise this money to pay the settlement costs. When we do, the license should become final. If we cannot raise the needed money, we lose the opportunity, probably forever. If we succeed in raising the money, we can probably go on the air in about 6 months.
We are in the process of building a staff and raising funds.
