Programming: Music

Our music will be the most diverse in Michigan!

We will have a block format, with volunteer DJ's playing the music they love. A typical block will be 3 hours, once a week. This means we need 56 DJ's to cover the schedule!

We will play everything you can't get on other local stations. We will have some genres that are totally unavailable otherwise. We will have some shows that are closer to the mainstream, but with a different slant.

We are especially interested in local music.

Some ideas ….

  • 1920's Jazz
  • underground rap
  • traditional American folk
  • Music of Scotland and Ireland
  • Music of Africa
  • Music of Lebanon
  • 1940's country
  • Southern gospel
  • 1950's pop
  • Medieval music
  • Show tunes
  • 1960's “top-40”
  • Bluegrass
  • 1970's “progressive rock”
  • Today's acoustic folk music
  • Soul music
  • —– What have I left out???

If you are interested in being a DJ, (or if you have records or CD's to donate) call us ..

When we start broadcasting, we plan to start with a “Flint marathon”, with a live broadcast of Flint area music, for as long as we can keep it going. Then once a week, we will have a live broadcast of local music. If you are part of a local band, and would like an opportunity for a live broadcast, call us. ….
